The islands of "high sea" – this is the meaning of Pelagie in greek - are located about 200 km south of Agrigento, between the island of Malta and Tunisia. The group includes the large island of Lampedusa (33 km2) and the two small islands of Linosa and Lampione. The latter, "inhabited" only by a lighthouse, plunges into the sea with nearly vertical walls for about 60 m deep and therefore it is an uncontaminated depth, a true paradise for divers who can meet groupers, lobsters, yellow and pink coral, and the gray shark.
